From Killer Roads to Zones of Life and Safety
In its clamor to reclaim Philippine roads as “zones of life and safety”, Lansangang Ligtas: Buhay Higit sa Lahat embarks on a multi-sectoral campaign and a multi-component program. We aim to bring together the government, community associations, business groups and private institutions (such as the various churches and the media) in a concerted and coordinated effort to:
(a) raise public awareness on the magnitude and impact of road safety problems;
(b) consult and consolidate concerned groups and institutions in coming up with an action plan for road safety;
(c) engage in lobby work and multi-media campaign with key state actors and civil society leaders in adopting and strictly enforcing road safety laws and in re-focusing policies and resources to ensure “putting people first” in the agenda of road safety.
The campaign organizers, co-convenors, and partners will cooperate in: (a) production and distribution of literature on road safety, (b) conducting awareness and education seminars and symposia, (c) group and sectoral consultations, (d) multi-media campaign, and (e) petition signing (for more you may check out "Lansangang Ligtas" at facebook).
